This is my Boomstick! Part 4

After experimenting with the cannon, I decided I needed to make a couple of changes as the fog wasn't coming out the way I wanted it to, and the fog machine was just getting too hot. I Had to move the machine out of the cannon barrel and place it in the gun carriage. To do this, I bought a dishwasher drain hose from Amazon, and repurposed a flexible sink drain extension as well as a 6 inch wide funnel (Amazon).

The drain extension, once I removed the screw on coupler, is exactly the inner diameter to fit directly onto emitter end of the fog machine. Once that was placed, the small end of the drain hose, after putting two layers of electrical tape on the end, fits perfectly into the drain extender.

At this point I used Fusion black spray paint to paint the funnel. Once dry, the funnel was just a bit small to fit in the muzzle of the cannon, so I used a little of the remainder of the foam insulation strips to build a lip I could glue the funnel to.

This is important. Attach your hose to the funnel first, then use zip ties to secure it. I t should be a perfect fit. slide the hose down the barrel of the cannon and then apply super glue or E6000 glue to the back edge of the funnel and slot it into place against the foam lip. You can now route the hose through he hole in the bottom of the cannon that was originally for the power cords. Place your fog machine into the gun carriage (I used an l bracket so I could hang the machine with the hand and secure it tot he bracket using a bolt.)

.Now we are ready to go...

Here are the LED lights built into the fog machine...

So there you have it. The fog cannon is now fully complete and ready for Halloween. I may do one more small mod and figure out a way to squeeze a 24mm (1 inch) fan into the hose so the fog can be accelerated as it comes out, but overall, I am really happy with how this came together.

Next up: Finishing the Tape and plastic wrap ghost, and the fog chiller
